AOC launches 26.5in Agon Pro AG276QZD 240Hz OLED monitor for competitive gamers
Fast and crisp.
AOC has expanded its burgeoning range of gaming monitors with the addition of the Agon Pro AG276QZD boasting a flat 240Hz OLED panel win a desk-friendly 26.5in form factor.
Rocking a 16:9 QHD (2560×1440) OLED panel with antiglare treatment, this bad boy can display 240 frames a second (or one each 4.16ms), making it a fine fit for pro gamers who demand high framerates. AOC’s offering is on par with the fastest OLED-based displays on the market, and there’s more to it then sheer speed, as the Pro AG276QZD boasts peak luminosity of 1,000nits and, as expected for an OLED, an epic 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio.
While not the fastest panel type available – 360Hz already exists with >500Hz coming soon – what OLED lacks in refresh it more than recovers in pixel response and image quality. In this case, a 0.03ms (GtG) response time alongside Nvidia G-Sync framerate synchronisation makes for a tear- and lag-free experience thanks to smooth image transitions with less image retention. Add that to OLED’s outstanding image quality and deep blacks and you get a gaming monitor that ticks more boxes than many rivals.
While gaming is a primary focus, the Pro AG276QZD supports HDR 10 for deeper colours in games and movies, and thanks to its 10-bit panel, AOC advertises 91.9 Adobe RGB, 98.3 DCI-P3, and 136.7 per cent sRGB gamut coverage, meaning that it can cope reasonably well with colour-accurate content creation.
I/O comprises two HDMI 2.0, two DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus two USB 3.2 Type-A. The display comes bundled a choice of 1.8m HDMI or DisplayPort cables, and there are a pair of integrated 5W speakers for perfunctory onboard sound.
Build-wise we have a black and grey frame with some LEDs and gaming accents on the back, plus a stand adjusting in height (130mm), tilt (-4° to +21.5°), swivel (-30° to +30°), and pivot. A 100×100 VESA mount is also available.
Excellent all-round credentials, but the catch is that OLED screens continue to attract a premium. AOC’s Agon Pro AG276QZD will be available starting this month at £879.99, backed by three years of warranty.
