AOC AG276QZD: OLED monitor with WQHD & 240 Hz

AOC, a well-known name in the world of gaming monitors, has recently introduced the Agon Pro AG276QZD. This monitor stands out for its 240 Hz fast OLED panel, which not only offers perfect blacks and a tremendously high contrast ratio, but also promises a particularly fast response time.

The Agon Pro AG276QZD is equipped with a 26.5-inch OLED panel that achieves a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a pixel density of 111 PPI. The display is said to achieve a peak brightness of 1,000 nits when displaying HDR content. The DCI-P3 color space can be displayed at 98.3 percent, and the Adobe RGB color space at 91.9 percent. The panel achieves a frame rate of 240 Hz, which is said to give the OLED pixels a response time of just 0.03 milliseconds.

The monitor is equipped with AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility to prevent image cracking when displaying games at less than 240 frames per second. AOC offers a three-year warranty on the panel, which includes burn-in issues. For the right gaming look, AOC installs RGB lighting on the back of the monitor, which illuminates the wall behind the screen in a color of choice.

The stand is height-adjustable by 13 centimeters, and the pivot function allows the monitor to be rotated into portrait mode. AOC installs 2 x 5 watt stereo speakers, twice DisplayPort 1.4, twice HDMI 2.0 and a USB-A hub with two ports (5 Gbit/s). The so-called “G-Menu” brings a number of gaming features, including the ability to lighten shadows and fade in crosshairs.

The AOC Agon Pro AG276QZD gaming monitor was announced back in March, finally AOC confirms details about the launch in Germany. According to this, the monitor will hit the market later in June for a recommended retail price of 1,089 euros.

AOC is the third manufacturer to install the panel in a monitor. The first was Asus at CES with the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM. However, Asus is just as almost always the most expensive: The announced Asus OLED is listed at a hefty 1,499 Euros and is not yet on the market. Already available is the Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240, with 1,150 euros but more expensive than AOC’s MSRP. Less expensive is the LG UltraGear OLED 27GR95QE-B and on the market for circa 900 euros.

With growing competition in the market, OLED monitor prices are expected to drop, although they will likely remain in the premium price segment. An LCD panel with similar features costs significantly less, so OLED panels are unlikely to slide into the mainstream anytime soon.
